Ceredigion Actif Service this year again embarked on a comprehensive four week Summer Program of activities.

Ceredigion Actif Service’s Summer Program 2018 offered over 20 different activities, sports camps and events for children across the county during the Summer Holiday.

Provisions this year focused on fun, fitness, team games and a variety of sports and games. Ceredigion Actif’s aim is to provide safe, accessible and varied activities which encourage more children to be physically active more often. The popular Actif Sports Camp activities were staged in a fun environment setting where all participants were able to participate in a range of exciting activities and meet new friends.

Leisure Services Manager for Ceredigion Actif, Ian Macken, said, “Over the years the Summer Program has proved a success. It is of great importance to us that we continue to offer accessible opportunities for children during school holidays, as well as term time. This is so that access to physical activity for children is available throughout the year through both the active young people service within schools and the leisure centre activities.”

Other activities and sports activity such as indoor climbing wall, cricket, yoga, cycling and fun themed sports days took place. There was a surfing and beach cleaning day at Poppit sands which was a new addition to this year’s programme.

Councillor Catrin Miles, the Cabinet Member responsible for Leisure said, “It’s pleasing to see Ceredigion Actif providing a quality service which is clearly beneficial to our children over the Summer period. The activities are great opportunities not only to enjoy but also to keep active and develop fitness socially.”
