People can have their say on Respite and Day Services provision in Ceredigion.

We are currently reviewing our range of service provisions in order to meet the needs of current and future service users.
The consultation will be an opportunity to review, develop and implement a revamp of service provisions for individuals with assessed needs, including individuals with Learning Disability and Older Adults. It will include day provision and short term/respite on a through age basis where the focus will be on service users’ person centred care and support planning.

We are seeking the views of service users, their relatives and carers, stakeholders and the wider public to help shape our proposals to benefit our vulnerable individuals in Ceredigion.

We need to understand the current and future needs of the population including families of young children who will be utilising the service in the next 10 to 20 years.

This is part of Ceredigion’s Through Age Well-being programme (TAW). TAW consists of three services: Porth Cymorth Cynnar, Porth Gofal and Porth Cynnal. The programme identifies what well-being concerns people have at an early stage and prevent escalation, wherever possible, through a timely and proportionate response.

Councillor Alun Williams, Ceredigion County Council Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Through Age Wellbeing, said: “Things have changed a lot in recent years. So it’s a good time to consult again with our service users and carers to see how we can best help in the modern world. We are committed to improving the lives of all our vulnerable people in the county. We think the best way to do that is to help people to live as independently as they are able to, whilst providing excellent services when they need it. I encourage anyone who uses our services currently, looks after someone who does or anticipates needing them in the future, to take part in this important consultation which will help shape the way our day and respite services look in the years to come.”

The consultation is being carried out by Practice Solutions and will be live for 12 weeks until 21 June 2023.
