Keep Wales Tidy’s Spring Clean initiative will be held between 17 March and 02 April this year.

As part of Caru Ceredigion, the Council is very eager to work with and support individuals and groups on an ongoing basis and throughout the year who want to make a positive impact on the local environment. We can assist by providing some basic items of equipment including litter pickers, hoops and sacks as well as making arrangements for the collection and disposal of material collected.

Before undertaking any litter picking work, it is very important that the public read the information available on the Keep Wales Tidy which refers to health and safety, the risk

assessments needed, and good practice. This will help ensure everyone’s safety while they are undertaking the activity. It should also be remembered that anyone litter picking is doing it for themselves and their communities and not on behalf of the County Council.

Councillor Keith Henson, Cabinet Member for Highways and Environmental Services and Carbon Management, said: “Spring is the perfect time to go out for a walk and do our part to

keep Ceredigion tidy. We are proud to support Keep Wales Tidy’s Spring Clean campaign, as it coincides so well with Caru Ceredigion’s principles. As we also celebrate St David’s Day in March, it is timely to reflect on one our patron saint’s most famous sayings – ‘gwnewch y pethau bychain’ (do the little things). By doing the little things in this context, we can make a big difference.”
