With Ceredigion towns and residents getting in the festive spirit early this year, all are reminded to shop safely when shopping locally this season.

Shopping for the festivities will be different this year. With Welsh Government coronavirus guidance still in place, it is important that we all make Christmas shopping as safe as possible, when traditionally it is a time when shops can get very busy. 2020 has been a difficult year for businesses due to the effects of Covid-19, and Ceredigion County Council hopes that the run-up to the festive period will give Ceredigion businesses a welcome boost.

Respecting the measures businesses have in place ensures your safety, as well as shop workers and others out shopping. Wearing a face covering and social distancing rules should be followed when visiting towns and shops, as well as washing hands or using hand sanitizer.

Free parking will be provided on Saturday 05, 12 and 19 of December 2020 at all Council pay and display car parks in the run up to Christmas.

Many local businesses are now also online so Ceredigion residents and beyond can support the economy from the comfort of their own home.

With Small Business Saturday held on 05 December, let’s support Ceredigion businesses and shops whilst also giving the local economy a well needed boost.

This is in line with the Winter Strategy, enabling the local economy to survive the winter months whilst also protecting the health and wellbeing of our most vulnerable.

Further information around the Coronavirus in Ceredigion, as well as grants for businesses, can be seen on the Coronavirus webpage.
