2015-16 Budget Consultation

The Council held a Consultation exercise during October and November 2014 that included 6 well attended public meetings so that we could hear your views on specific budget proposals for the 2015/16 financial year.

A report on the responses received to ‘It’s Time to Talk Cuts 2015-2016 Budget Consultation’ was presented to the Cabinet on the 2nd of December 2014. The report asked for Cabinet to consider the results of the consultation prior to making its decisions on proposals for Council cuts for 2015-16 at the beginning of 2015.

A copy of the report on the responses received to ‘It’s Time to Talk Cuts 2015-2016 Budget Consultation’ is now available to read here:

2015-16 Budget Savings Approved

Ceredigion County Council Cabinet approved a number of budget savings on 13 January 2015, which will be incorporated within the 2015/16 budget.

This follows the Welsh Government’s (WG) announcement of the Final Settlement on 10 December 2014, which, according to the WG, represents a decrease of 4.5% compared against the equivalent allocation for 2014/15.

After a long process of engagement in the Summer, and consultation on the proposed cuts with Ceredigion residents, the outcome of the consultation exercise was reported to Cabinet on 2 December 2014. Detailed scrutiny by members has also taken place.
