Welsh Government announced on the 10th February 2022 that it will be investing £96m to pay around 53,000 social care staff in Wales an additional £1,498 gross payment. Care workers on basic rate of income tax can therefore expect to receive £1,000 net after deductions.

Local Authorities will be administering the scheme on behalf of Welsh Government. Ceredigion County Council will therefore be administering the payment and providing funding to employers that have a care setting within Ceredigion.
All eligible staff will receive the payment in their June 2022 payroll.
Ceredigion County Council is currently in the process of contacting all employers in the county that may have eligible staff.
All eligible staff should receive a claim form from their employer during the first couple of weeks of April 2022. If you believe you are eligible for the payment but have not received a claim form you should contact your employer in the first instance.
