Ceredigion County Council is supporting ‘Stand up, Speak Out’ on White Ribbon Day, held on 25 November 2019.

The Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act was introduced in 2015. It aims to work towards the prevention of violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence and improve support for those affected.

Sue Darnbrook, Corporate Director and Domestic Violence Champion said, “We encourage everyone to wear a white ribbon to show their commitment to this important day. 2,375 council staff have completed an e-learning programme on Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act. The council is also running an Ask and Act training to help people recognise the signs of domestic abuse and know where to refer people on to for help.”

The council’s People and Organisation Service wear White Ribbons to show their commitment in stopping violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence.
