The potential relocation of Theatr Felinfach will be looked into further after a feasibility study was carried out to consider potential design improvement options for the Theatre.
Ceredigion County Council’s Cabinet agreed in a meeting on 31 July to carry out further investigation of an option that would see the possible relocation of the Theatre to be built and co-located on the proposed site for the Dyffryn Aeron area school subject to the proposal for a new area school being approved by Council after statutory consultation.
Councillor Catherine Hughes, the Cabinet member responsible for Culture said, “Theatr Felinfach has been an important part of the cultural heart of Ceredigion for decades and offers great opportunities in community theatre and hosting Welsh language productions. It’s important that we look to the future to consider how we can support and build on the good work already being carried out in the Theatre. The Cabinet’s decision allows the Council to consider further how we can achieve this.”
Another option under consideration is to improve the current Theatre building and its resources. The Cabinet decision supports the Council’s corporate priority of investing in people’s future.
