Orig Williams or El Bandito as the Welsh wrestler was known, has carried the Welsh flag to all parts of the World. He fought the fiercest of fighters, experienced the wins and the losses – without a doubt, he lived life to the limit! A wrestler, a family man and an entrepreneur.
Gai Toms has composed a superb album that takes the listener on a sonic trumpet-trample tour of Orig’s life, from the ‘golden pavement’ of Ysbyty Ifan to the rumbles in the Calabar jungle, Nigeria and created a sound that’s an explosion of funk and flair.
The show’s first performance was in Tŷ Gwerin at this year’s National Eisteddfod in Llanrwst, and since then the production has received rave reviews and unprecedented praise. This is a wonderful opportunity to see a live performance of the album and be part of an evening celebrating the life of one of Wales’ much loved folk heroes.
