The Cylch Caron draft Full Business Case has been submitted to the Welsh Government to establish the grant funding levels for the scheme.
The impressive Cylch Caron scheme is being developed in partnership between Ceredigion County Council, Mid-Wales Housing, Hywel Dda University Health Board and the Welsh Government. It will provide a brand new building designed to provide health and social care services; together with specialist housing for people who have care needs in Tregaron. The new building will replace the existing Tregaron Community Hospital, Bryntirion Resource Centre and GP surgery.
Once the level of grant funding has been decided, the Cylch Caron partners will each need to give final approval to go ahead with the scheme.
Councillor Catherine Hughes, a member of the council’s Cabinet and the Chair of the Cylch Caron Stakeholder Board said: “All three partners have been working closely together and with the Welsh Government to get to this point. I hope we can make good progress in the near future. We are all committed to building Cylch Caron to help those who are in need in the Tregaron area.”
Welsh Government Minister for Housing and Local Government Julie James AM said: “I’m pleased we have reached this important step in the development of the new Cylch Caron Centre in Tregaron, which will bring important services under one roof, closer to the people who need them.”
“By working together and focusing on early intervention, these services will help people to live active, independent lives. Cylch Caron is an excellent example of how we can bring about change within the health service by placing prevention, quality and transparency at the heart of healthcare.”

The vision of Cylch Caron is to build on the existing resilience and commitment to caring for people in the Cylch Caron community. Through this the partnership will create an innovative, rural model of community-based care to meet care, health and housing need in the area that is fit for today and sustainable for tomorrow.
