A public Commemoration and Dedication Service to honour fallen soldiers from the Cardigan area will be held on Saturday, 12 October at 2 pm in Cardigan. A plaque will be unveiled at the Cardigan War Memorial in Victoria Gardens by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed, Miss Sara Edwards.

The plaque will commemorate Michael J. Dunphy who gave his life in 1982 Falklands War and Lee T. Davies and David M.E. Greenhalgh who gave of their lives in the 2001-2015 war in Afghanistan.

Councillor Paul Hinge is Ceredigion County Council’s Armed Forces Champion. He said, “Three men from Cardigan gave their lives as they served their Country. I am delighted that the community will have the chance to commemorate them and show their appreciation.

“A warm invitation is extended to anyone who wishes to attend the Service.”
