Aberystwyth Cycle Festival will be held from 18 May until 27 May 2019. School children will have the chance to take part in the race from 10am on Saturday morning 25 May.

This year, Ceredigion Actif have worked closely with the event organisers to offer racing opportunities for children in primary and secondary schools. This will not only improve their physical skills but also to give them an opportunity to make new friends in a safe and exciting environment.

Children in years 3, 4, 5 & 6 can register to take part in the Ceredigion Actif sponsored school races at Abercyclefest Website, under the heading ‘School Races’. There is also an opportunity for year 7 to 11 pupils to register to take part in the race.

Elen James is the Corporate Lead Officer for Lifelong Learning and Culture. She said, “This is the ninth year of the Cyclefest and we are pleased to once again work in partnership with the organising committee to run the schools races. Cycling is a growing sport and is key to not only our cycling clubs but also as a safe way of travelling to school and as an excellent family activity. The Schools races gives the children an opportunity to cycle safely on the roads of Aberystwyth.”
