Two information sessions are to be held in Tregaron and Ponhtrydfendigaid on 13 and 14 May for residents to gain information on the ‘Cozy Caron’ scheme. Cozy Caron is a new scheme to help eligible homes within the area of Tregaron and the surrounding villages to have central heating systems installed.

Ceredigion County Council has been successful in obtaining funding to install first-time central heating systems in properties that do not currently have full central heating systems. Storage heaters or a back boiler running a few radiators are not classed as a full central heating system.

To be eligible for this grant, all the following criteria must be met:

1) Property must be energy inefficient;
2) Property must not have an existing full central heating system; and
3) The household to be on low income.

City Energy Network have been appointed to deliver the project, they have been working with Ceredigion County Council for the past year and a half delivering the ECO Local Authority Flexibility scheme within the area.

To find out if you are eligible and gain more information on the scheme, open sessions will be held at:
• The Memorial Hall, Tregaron on Monday 13 May, from 3pm to 7pm.
• The Games Room, Pantyfedwen Village Hall, Pontrhydfendigaid on Tuesday 14 May, from 2pm to 7pm.
If you would like to discuss this scheme, please contact City Energy Network on 02920 499 183, or e-mail info@cityenergy.org.uk.

Only homes within the Tregaron area and the surrounding villages will be able to apply for the scheme. Eligible villages include Llanddewi Brefi, Pontrhydfendigaid, Ystrad Meurig, Swyddffynnon, Llanilar, Llanfair Clydogau, Llwynygroes, Llangeitho, Blaenpennal, Bontnewydd, Bronant, Swyddffynnon, Ffair Rhos, Ysbyty Ystwyth, Pontrhydygroes, Lledrod and Llanafan.
