During the Christmas and New Year period, waste collections in Ceredigion will be provided a day later than the usual collection day on the weeks commencing 25 December 2017 and 1 January 2018. The Household Waste Sites will also be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

If for any reason we are unable to collect your waste, please re-present it on your next scheduled collection day.

It’s never been easier to recycle from around the home. Christmas wrapping paper and empty food packaging can all go into the clear recycling bag. Food waste such as vegetable peelings, turkey bones, plate scrapings, tea bags, coffee grinds, and any out of date food can be put in your food waste bin. Contact the Council if you think you’ll need another food waste bin.

The Council can also help to recycle your real Christmas tree either at the Household Waste Site, or by using the garden waste collection service. In the New Year, the Council will be offering a free collection of unwanted electrical items.

Councillor Ray Quant MBE, Cabinet Member for Waste said, “We all tend to create more household waste at Christmas. The important thing is that we recycle as much of it as possible afterwards. With the new year arriving, it's a great time to make a renewed commitment to recycling as much as possible, starting on the first collection day after Christmas."
