Ceredigion Actif is hosting a weekly inclusive basketball session that combines wheelchair and running basketball. The aims of the tournament is to increase the amount of physical activity that young people participate in, increase opportunities for disabled children and giving young people the opportunity to play together side by side.

Weekly sessions are held in five secondary school across Ceredigion, including Cardigan, Aberaeron, Lampeter and Aberystwyth schools. The schools took part in a competition in Lampeter Leisure Centre on Wednesday 13 February, with Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi coming out as the winners. They will go ahead to represent Ceredigion in the Welsh finals at Sports Wales, Cardiff on Thursday 7 March.

Councillor Catrin Miles is the Cabinet member responsible for Learning Services. She said, “It’s a pleasure to see so many children across Ceredigion taking part in these sessions. Ceredigion Actif is doing an excellent job in promoting the importance of physical activity, which certainly increases young people’s confidence and motivation. It is fantastic to see that Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi is progressing to the final round at Sports Wales in Cardiff. I wish them the very best."
