Cered: Menter Iaith Ceredigion organised ‘Eisteddfod Ddwl’ at Ysgol Bro Teifi together with the school’s language charter for year seven pupils.

Pupils competed against each other under their school houses; Teifi, Emlyn and Tysul. They took part in competitions such as a gargling choir, dancing to contemporary pop music, story and sound and a five minute sketch about the Grand Slam. Tysul were crowned winners and were awarded a trophy from Cered.

The ‘Eisteddfod Ddwl’ was led by Radio Cymru presenter, MarciG along with judges Llinos Hallgarth, Community Development officer for Cered and Lorraine Davies.

The purpose of the event was to give pupils the opportunity to build confidence, discover new talents and to have fun through the medium of Welsh.

Rhodri Francis is a Cered Development Officer. He said, “It was fantastic to see how many young people were involved. Some were performing on stage for the first time and had gained so much confidence during the competitions. Congratulations to every individual who took part in the Eisteddfod - brilliant!”
