First Minister Mark Drakeford announced that children’s playgrounds will be able to reopen gradually from 20 July, and over the following weeks as and when safety checks and mitigations are put in place.

There are 86 community play areas in Ceredigion, 85 are owned or Managed by Town and Community Councils or Community Groups. One is owned by Ceredigion County Council, which is Netpool in Cardigan. The play area in Netpool will remain closed for the time being.

Ceredigion Play Area Network have been supported by the Council to ensure that if they decide to reopen their facility over the following weeks, their decision to do so is based on a thorough assessment of the risks and measures put in place to mitigate those risks.

Guidance has been provided to Ceredigion Play Area Network members about safely reopening community play areas by the Council and in line with Welsh Government guidelines.
