Self-contained visitor accommodation will begin to re-open in Wales from 11 July.
This includes accommodation that is completely self-contained, including holiday cottages, caravans, motor homes and some glamping accommodation with a kitchen and washing facilities, without the need to share with other guests. The use of communal facilities will not be permitted.
Ceredigion County Council is working with the tourism sector to ensure they are aware of their social responsibility, that local communities are respected and that visitors become part of the community whilst visiting Ceredigion.
The Council has put together information for visitor accommodation operators to share with their guests. It is hoped visitors enjoy their time in Ceredigion, whilst also respecting the local communities. Visitors will be encouraged to stay as local as possible, support local, maintain hand hygiene and ensure social distancing.
The industry standard and associated quality mark ‘Barod Amdani’ means that businesses can demonstrate that they are following the various Government and public health guidelines; they have carried out a risk assessment for COVID-19 and checked that they have the required processes in place. All businesses across the industry can join the scheme, free of charge.
The coronavirus is still with us so we need to be cautious when easing the lockdown. The sector is encouraged to open slowly and carefully to ensure the health of locals and those visiting.
Outdoor visitor attractions were permitted to open to visitors from 6 July.
