New Mental Health Training 'for everyone'.
With one in four of us affected by a mental health problem each year it is becoming increasingly likely that someone we know will suffer in this way.
This new short training course prepares you to recognise someone who is developing problems, provide immediate help to someone in distress and signpost them to appropriate support. The 12 hour training, originally developed in Australia, is supported by the Welsh Assembly Government and is being made available throughout Wales. It is particularly relevant for front-line workers, who are likely to come into contact with those experiencing mental distress. But is also for anyone who wants to be prepared to help a family member or friend, or people in their workplace or community.
In Ceredigion, Mind Aberystwyth are running this course regularly. In-house training sessions can also be arranged to suit.
