Ceredigion Registration Service offers a passport return service for EEA and Swiss nationals who have applied online for a registration certificate or a document certifying permanent residence.
The European Passport Return Service allows you to keep hold of your European passport while your application is being processed.
This service is only provided for passport holders and cannot be used for ID cards.
The European Passport Return Service is offered at the Ceredigion Register Office, Aberystwyth and is available by appointment only. Please contact us if you wish to arrange an appointment.
The applicant must attend the appointment themselves within 5 working days of submitting the online application form.
During the appointment, we can photocopy your EEA or Swiss passport and forward a copy along with your checklist, application and any supporting documents to the Home Office on your behalf.
What you need to bring with you to the appointment:
- Your valid passport
- A printed copy of the document checklist which will have the unique application number and payment notification number
- A printed copy of your application form
- All of the agreed original supporting documents
The fee for the European Passport Return Service is £10 and is payable when you attend an appointment.
What happens after using the European Passport Return Service?
Using the European Passport Return Service does not guarantee the success of the application and we cannot provide any advice. The European Passport Return Service will not ensure that your form has been correctly completed or that correct supporting documents are submitted.
The Home Office may contact you for further information after your application has been submitted.
The Home Office will contact you directly to advise you of the outcome of your application.
