Aberaeron to Llanerch Aeron

A 3km route through the pleasant Aeron Valley linking the coastal town of Aberaeron with the National Trust property at Llanerchaeron.

The Route

The gravel surfaced route follows the old railway line alongside the river Aeron with short sections of quiet country roads at each end. Apart from a moderate uphill section at the Aberaeron end the route is generally flat and is suitable for most grades of cyclist..

IN ABERAERON follow the A482 south from Alban Square for 1/4 mile then take the road on the left to Bro Allt-y-Graig. This road is about 200 yards north of the river bridge. Parking is available in Aberaeron.

LLANERCHAERON is just off the A482 about 2 miles outside Aberaeron, Parking is available near the National Trust Property.

Please show consideration for other users of this shared facility, and please do not obstruct the farm access lane.

This Cycleway was formally opened on the 14th July 1998 by County Councillor T. H. Lewis; Chairman of Ceredigion County Council and the Mayor of Aberaeron Town Council, Countv Councillor R.E.Thomas accompanied by representatives of the National Trust.

The project is the result of a partnership between Ceredigion County Council, Aberaeron Town Council and The National Trust and was part financed by the Welsh Office through the Strategic Development Scheme for Wales.

The engineering works were carried out by Hyder as part of the reinstatement works of the Aberaeron sewerage scheme.
