Johnes, Thomas (1748-1816)o'r Hafod. b. Ludlow.

Landowner and agricultural pioneer, poet. M.P. Ceredigion 1775-80; Radnorshire 1780-96; Ceredigion 1796-1816.

Lord Lieutenant Ceredigion 1800-16. In 1783 went to live at Hafod Uchtryd.

Built a mansion - burnt down in 1807, re-built. Received an R.S.A. medal 5 times for planting trees.
