The County Council's Coast and Countryside Section plays a key role in the following areas:

  • public rights of way and countryside access, including public rights of way
  • biodiversity and countryside conservation
  • coastal and marine management

The Coast and Countryside Section manages over 2500 km of public paths in Ceredigion. Public paths are shown on the Definitive Map and Statement. Take a look at the way in which work being undertaken to improve public paths in the County.


The Ceredigion Local Access Forum is a statutory body set up by the County Council under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000.
