How do I apply for a Blue Badge?

You will need to complete an application form and send it to the Contact Team.

You can obtain an application form by telephoning the Contact Team on 01545 574000.

Alternatively you can print the form now and send it to the contact Team, Min Aeron, Rhiw Goch, Aberaeron, SA46 0DY

My Blue Badge is about to expire, how can I renew it?

You will need to reapply for a blue badge by completing another application form again.

Where can I purchase a Pendant Alarm System?

These can be purchased from Careline in Carmarthen by telephoning 01558 824283.

However if you live in Local Authority owned property you should contact your local housing officer on 0345 6067654.

If you live in a Housing Association property, please contact your local housing association office

Where can I get help with cleaning?

If you are over 55, Age Concern provide a cleaning service however there is a charge for this. Age Concern has offices in Aberystwyth (telephone 01970 615151) or Cardigan (01239 615777) and will be able to give you further advice.

Where can I apply for a free bus pass?

These are dealt with at Canolfan Rheidol, Rhodfa Padarn, Llanbadarn Fawr, Aberystwyth, SY23 3UE.  Telephone 01970 633556

Can Social Services loan a wheelchair to me?

No. However Red Cross offers a short-term loan service.

If you require a wheelchair for long-term use, you will need to contact your GP.

Where can I get a commode?

District Nurses can provide these. Red Cross also offer a short-term loan service.

If the District Nurse visits you, please contact your GP surgery.

How can I get a disabled toilet key?

You will need to contact your nearest Tourist Information Office.

If you are unsure where this is, you can ask the Contact Team by telephoning 01545 574000.

A key will cost £4.50 (as of 09/03/2011). You may need to provide proof of your disability, for example: disabled parking badge, or award for Disability Living Allowance etc.
