Be a Reading Buddy

Be a Reading Buddy

Help children to read as part of a project funded by the Welsh Government, managed by Community Service Volunteers – Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme Wales and supported by Ceredigion Library

What is a Reading Buddy?

A Reading Buddy gives a couple of hours a week of their time to help children with their reading.

If you...

• Can give a couple of hours each week

• Enjoy reading

• Like being with children

...YOU could be a Reading Buddy.

You don't need any special skills - we will give you all the hints and tips you need so you can really help children with their reading. Just 10 minutes a day can make a huge difference to their overall ability and confidence.

It's Easy to become a Reading Buddy

We will...

• Arrange a confidential criminal record check for you.

• Find you a place in a local primary school.

• Introduce you to the teacher who works with Reading Buddies

• Introduce you to other Reading Buddies.

• Keep in touch to make sure you are enjoying being a Reading Buddy.
