Ceredigion Museum

Ceredigion Museum is housed in a restored Edwardian Theatre. It has been described as 'one of the most beautiful museum interiors in Britain'.

The museum displays objects of all ages from the county of Ceredigion (Cardiganshire). Most of the displays are of the Victorian period and later.

Open:

The Museum is open Monday to Saturday throughout the year except Good Friday and Christmas week.

April to September (and all school holidays* except Christmas)

October to March

Ceredigion Museum is a vibrant, welcoming institution which through well thought out displays and exhibitions attempts to deepen the understanding of the history and culture of the county to the people of Ceredigion and its visitors.
We make accessible our collections and information about them, which we hold in trust for the community we serve.
This is achieved by collecting, documenting, preserving and interpreting material evidence of Ceredigion's past for the public benefit.

The museum has a lively programme of temporary exhibitions in the Coliseum auditorium and the gallery. We apologise if these are being changed during your visit. The Gallery may sometimes be closed at short notice: if you are traveling specifically to see an exhibition, please phone in advance.

The Museum is run by Ceredigion County Council.

Location
The museum is next to the Tourist Information Office (i) and above The Officers Club shop in Terrace Road, 100 metres from the sea front.
The main entrance stairs are between Boots the Chemist and The Officers Club. There is also a staircase and lift to all floors of the museum in the Tourist Information Centre.

Parking
Short term parking spaces in local streets and along the Promenade: these are often full by 10 am.
There are car parks on Park Avenue about 5 minutes walk from the museum.
There is a Park and Ride service with parking from Park Avenue.
