The Ceredigion County Council Improvement Plan Performance 2009-2010 is a Plan reviewing on our general performance during the previous year 2009-2010.

On the 25th April 2013 the Council resolved to formally adopt the 'Ceredigion Local Development Plan' (LDP). This means that the LDP is now operational and supersedes previous development plans approved or adopted by Ceredigion County Council or its predecessor authorities.

Ceredigion County Council submitted the Ceredigion Local Development Plan (LDP) for Examination in December, 2011. The Ceredigion LDP replaces the adopted Dyfed Structure Plan (alteration 1991) and also the un-adopted Ceredigion Unitary Development Plan (UDP) Proposed Modifications Version (2006) as the policy context for assessing development proposals within Ceredigion from adoption until 2022.

This, Ceredigion’s first five year Strategic Plan for Children is produced in response to the National Assembly for Wales document: Social Services Guidance and Planning.

Improving the health and wellbeing of the population is not, and cannot, be the sole responsibility of one or two organisations. The HSCWB Strategy for 2011-14 reflects the multi-agency and community based approach that will be needed to further improve the health and wellbeing of the population of Ceredigion.

The County Council and Local Health Board have worked together with the local NHS Trusts, other local partnerships, voluntary sector, the public and service users to develop this Strategy.

In line with the Contaminated Land (Wales) Regulations 2001 Ceredigion County Council have produced a Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy document which details the way in which the authority intends to identify and inspect potentially contaminated land sites in Ceredigion.

Ceredigion County Council recognises the UK Government's obligations under the Rio Earth Summit of 1992 and its commitment to reducing its emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases by 20% below 1990 levels by year 2010.

Planning for the Social Services functions of local authorities is required by s.46 of the NHS and Community Care Act 1990.

In line with the National Strategy for Older People produced by the National Assembly, The Ceredigion Strategy for Older People aims to address the changing expectations of older people (50+) within Ceredigion and to implement real changes that make a difference to real lives. It aims to engage older people as partners and to develop an older people focused vision.

SLR Group Limited (SLR) has been appointed by Ceredigion County Council (CCC) to explore meaningful options for the future management of waste within Ceredigion.

Ceredigion County Council has adopted the principle, in the transaction of public business and the administration of justice in Wales, that it will treat the Welsh and English languages on the basis of equality. This scheme identifies how Ceredigion County Council will enact that principle in the provision of services to the public in Wales.

The Gambling Act 2005 comes fully into force in September 2007. Ceredigion County Council will become a Licensing Authority under this Act.

Ceredigion County Council is developing plans for older people's services. It is anticipated there will be an increase of almost 6,000 people of pension age living in the county over the next 20 years. The total of 25,200 people in this age group will represent 27.8% of the population of Ceredigion.
