Summer Reading Challenge

It's the Summer Reading Challenge!

Story Lab: The Summer Reading Challenge for children in Ceredigion Library

During the summer, public libraries throughout Ceredigion will be welcoming children between 4 and 11 years old to Story Lab, this year's Summer Reading Challenge, an exciting scheme that will keep them reading throughout the school summer holidays.

By joining Story Lab, children will be encouraged to visit their local library six times between mid July and the end of September, and to read six or more books of their choice. By doing this they can collect many reading challenge prizes, and there will be a certificate and a medal for each child who manages to complete the challenge. The challenge is free, it isn't a competition, and each child will be rewarded for his own efforts at his own level.

The Summer Reading Challenge is one of the most important activities Ceredigion Library does to support children's attainment and literacy skills. This scheme is a fantastic way of encouraging children to read over the summer and to take advantage of what Ceredigion Library Service has to offer. It promotes the library as a special place, where staff can offer advice and guidance as the child develops a love for reading.

So don't delay – join the fun at your local library over the summer with Story Lab!
