Summer Reading Challenge - Story Lab

How can I join the Library?

Joining the library is easy. All you need to do is fill in an application form at your local library and get your parent or guardian to sign it if you are under 18 years of age. Every child is welcome to become library members – even new born babies.

How much does it cost to join?

It doesn't cost anything to join the library. Once you are a member, you can borrow books and use the computers for free. There is a small fee for borrowing videos, DVD's and CD's.

How many items can I borrow?

You can borrow up to 20 books at a time, for 4 weeks to begin with.

There isn't a fine for children who return late items – but remember you can renew borrowed items by phoning the lending desk on 01970 633717.

What if the book I want isn't in the Library?

Take a look at the catalogue online.

The Library staff can search through the catalogues of all the libraries in Ceredigion to search for your book, and then arrange for it to be delivered to your local library. If your book isn't in stock anywhere in the County, we can order the book for you for free.

Am I allowed to use the computer?

You are welcome to use the Library's computers for free.

Are there any special activities for children?

The Library arranges many activities for children. Activities include quizzes and competitions for children, with author visits arranged from time to time. Click here to find out if there are any activities on now.

Regular story sessions are held for under 5 year olds in many of Ceredigion's libraries. Click here for more information.

The Library also takes part in the annual Summer Reading Challenge. This is a national scheme to encourage reading during the summer holidays. Click here for more information about this year's challenge.
