Mae Gen Ti Ddewis (You have a choice)

dewis

"I feel much more comfortable discussing my problems in Welsh", is a sentiment that's been echoed by numerous research projects over the years. When in need of help or advice being able to discuss issues and problems in one's own language, the language of hearth and heart, is so much easier and stress-free.

Research has also showed that many Welsh speakers still believe that officialdom speaks English and put themselves at a disadvantage in not speaking Welsh when in contact with official bodies.

Over the summer Ceredigion's Social Services are trying to bust that myth. Their Call Centre at Aberaeron is staffed by a dedicated team of bilingual local ladies who are there on call to provide help and assistance in either Welsh or English.

Over the summer months Ceredigion Social Services will be raising awareness of this wonderful asset. The 'Mae Gen Ti Ddewis' (It's your choice) project, sponsored by the Welsh Language Board, will highlight the fact that all calls to the Minaeron centre can be made in Welsh. Leaflets will be distributed at cultural events and the message shared through the county's Welsh-medium papurau bro.

So, don't delay - phone today on 01545 574000 in Welsh or English as you prefer. Mae gen ti ddewis. It's your choice.
