Sustainability and Green Buildings
As more and more people become conscious of the effect our everyday lives have on the planet, so more people are beginning to look at how they can reduce their environmental impact. In the UK, our homes account for 27% of our total carbon emissions. Ceredigion County Council Building Control are committed to offering practical help and advice to our clients on improving the sustainability and environmental impact of their construction projects.
The Code for Sustainable Homes is the national standard for designing and constructing sustainable homes across Wales, England and Northern Ireland. It is aimed at reducing carbon emissions and making new homes more sustainable. It is compulsary for all new dwellings constructed in Wales to meet the standards laid down in the Code.
