Mission Statement

Here at Ceredigion Building Control, we have a simple mission:

To ensure that the residents of Ceredigion are provided with buildings that are safe and healthy to live in, are energy efficient, meet the access needs of disabled people, and in doing so promote the commitment of the Welsh Assembly Government and the Council in sustainable development.

Our service is both innovative and progressive, helping our clients work with ever more complex building regulations to ensure their project is both sustainable and of the highest quality.

We are the leading provider of building control services in Ceredigion, offering an impartial and publically-accountable service that is committed to providing high quality and cost-effective assistance tailored to our clients' needs, whether it's multi-million pound construction work, or a home improvement project.

To further ensure the residents of the County are provided with an unrivalled service, the section possesses / provides the following:

  • ISO 9001 Quality accreditation
  • Extensive local knowledge of geographical and geological conditions, together with extensive historical records
  • Customer focused team
  • Direct communication with each officer
  • Issue Completion Certificates confirming inspections have been undertaken and therefore compliance with the relevant requirements of the Regulations
  • A team approach to larger developments in conjunction with Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
  • A team of fully qualified officers with experience in the full range of project types
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Registered Officers
  • A professional, efficient and effective advice, plan checking, and decision process
  • Same day inspection service so as not to delay progress on site
  • Established partnership working with fellow professionals in the County
  • Full technical assessment of schemes within 15 working days from validation
  • Provide advice, guidance and assessments in compliance with the Code for Sustainable Homes (mandatory after 01/09/2010)
  • SAP Calculation Service
  • Participation in the "Building Excellence "awards, recognising builders that consistently produce quality construction
  • Provision of key information on properties to vendors or agents
  • Respond to and provide copies of decision notices and certificates to the legal profession
  • Work with warranty providers to ensure Completion Certificates are issued in accordance with Council of Mortgage Lenders guidelines.
