Volume 1

Volume 1 of the Deposit Plan comprises of 11 sections. Section 1 introduces the Deposit Plan setting out its format, with Sections 2 to 5 detailing the Policy Context, Overview of the County, Summary of Key Issues, the Vision and Objectives. The core Sections, 6 to 9, set out the Strategy and policies. The last two sections cover matters relating to "Delivering the Strategy" and "What Happens Next?"

Volume 2

Volume 2 of the Plan is in two Parts. Volume 2A describes "Settlement Group Statements" and Volume 2B, the "Proposals Maps" (including Inset Maps).

The county has been split into 22 Settlement Groups for the purposes of the LDP . A Statement is included for each Settlement Group within Volume 2A, of the LDP, giving details of the Settlement Group, Service Centre and Other Settlements. The Statements give an overview of what the area offers, its needs and what it is constrained by.

Suitable land to meet specific needs has been identified within the LDP, the majority is located within the Service Centres. Land identified is called an Allocated Site. Most allocations relate to housing, however there are other allocation types, including employment.

Details relating to Allocated Sites are set out in tables called Allocated Site Schedules in Volume 2A. These Schedules set out specific details for the site, including the location, size, expected densities, yields and any specific constraints, expectations and policy requirements.

The Maps in Volume 2B provide a visual guide to the LDP. There are a series of large scale Proposals Maps and more detailed Inset Maps, which illustrate policies and allocations within the LDP that cover a particular area of land (usually within a Service Centre). See also Constraints Maps
