Book Links
If you aren't able to join a book club; how about a book link?
Intrigued?
Book links are made up of a group of readers who are willing to try new things. Each member of the group chooses a book for the chain and sets about reading the other members' books.
Link members contribute a few comments or reviews of the books they read (positive or negative comments welcome!) and perhaps arrange to meet up with other participants in the chain to discuss the books; it's up to you.
Book links are fun and encourage you to read books you would not necessarily choose for yourself, exposing you to new points of view.
Give it a go! If you really hate a book in your chain you do not have to read the whole thing. Let us know what's annoying you about it and move on to the next title.
Book chains do not require as much effort as a fully blown book club to participate in and your comments will be extremely useful to other readers.
Chains usually last for a couple of months and the feedback generated will become a valuable resource to the library. Let us know if you're interested.
