  • Q: What will The Exercise Programme Involve?

A: Following your first consultation with the exercise referral instructor you will attend two exercise sessions per week for 16 weeks under the supervision of our highly qualified staff. You will have full support and guidance throughout, and even have the option of continuing to attend various sessions once the 16 weeks is over!

  • Q: Who is the exercise referral scheme for?

A: These classes are for individuals who have been referred by their GP/Health proffessional. There will be a mixture of both men and women (of all ages)in the classes who may have various medical conditions. (see exercise referral criteria)

  • Q: What if I'm not fit enough?

A: Our classes are designed so that each individual can work at their own pace, therefore, we will start at the lowest levels and progress further as and when is suits you.  

  • Q: What should I wear?

A: Loose, non-restrictive and comfortable clothing (a t-shirt and loose trousers or joggers are ideal) and well-supported footwear with rubber soles.

  • Q: What should I bring with me?                                                                          

A: A bottle of water and a small towel                                                                Exercise can improve your health

  • Q: What precautions do I need to take?

A: You will have been referred by your GP, Practice Nurse, or other health proffessional, who has confirmed that the exercise programme is suitable for you and that it will have a beneficial effect on your health. However:

If you have diabetes, please test your blood glucose level before and after the sessions;

If you have asthma, Please keep your inhaler with you whilst exercising;

If you have angina, please bring your spray or tablets to each session

If you have any other condition which needs medication before, during, or after exercise, please bring it with you.
