From Birkenhead

Came to Wales to work on the Railway from Pencader to Newcastle Emlyn

Would roam around Cwrtnewydd, Gorsgoch, Dihewyd, Mydroilyn and Talgarreg

He could play the concertina and accordion

He settled down in a room in the house of Tomos Herbert, Talgarreg and also lived in the old woollen mill, naming it Rutland Cottage

He caught rabbits, hares and would even cook hedgehogs in mud

He also caught moles and sold their skins

He died in October 1946. He was 76 years old. He was buried in Talgarreg Church cemetery

Cledlyn wrote a poem about him : 

'R'own ni'n nabod 'r hen Webber - ni fu
O'i fath rhyw lawer;
Dan frad ffawd, hen foi reit ffer
N'llawn ynni'n well na llawer'
