Wore a strange collection of clothes. When given a new set of clothes, he would cut up the clothes with his knife

Frequently seen riding his bike, wearing a sack with a knife between his teeth

Enjoyed playing quoits

Was a good worker

Buried in Gartheli Church cemetery

His memorial stone reads :

To the memory of
Thomas Brown
Died 26th December 1962
Aged 64 years

Tall man born in Devonshire,
Doing field work be seen no more,
Helped two blades of grass to grow,
Where one did show before
