Lamb Inn

3 Finch's Square

Glen K. Johnson writes in 'Cardigan Uncovered' :

'The name of the pub is believed by some to refer to 'Lamb of God' and to suggest that this was once a hostel for pilgrims visiting the Shrine of Our Lady at the Priory Church. Another local belief has it that the pub originally stood on the other side of the square, near the present day sorting office. The present building, although altered, is probably 18th Century in date. Despite the circumstantial evidence, the earliest written record found by the author to date is from 1850, by which time the 'Lamb Inn' was definitely in the present building.'
