Best Bar None Award 2010
After the success of the Best Bar None scheme in Aberystwyth in 2009, Ceredigion County Council is pleased to be able to extend the scheme county wide. The 2010 award will also be open to leisure complexes/caravan parks (with a licensed area) as well as to pubs, bars and clubs in Ceredigion.
Best Bar None is a national accreditation scheme promoted by the Home Office and the British Institute of Inn-Keeping (BII), and is recognised as a standard of excellence designed to reward the good and safe working practices that pubs, clubs and bars have in place.
The main aims of the Best Bar None Award Scheme are to:
· reduce alcohol related crime and disorder
· reward responsible operators and share good practice with others.
· minimise the harmful effects of binge drinking, whilst improving the profitability of an individual business and attractiveness of a general area
· improve the knowledge and skills of enforcement and regulation agencies, licensees and bar staff to deal effectively with issues relating to the management of licensed premises
· raise public awareness of the benefits of choosing to use well-run licensed premises, and so increasing public reassurance and the promotion of social inclusion and diversity of use
· create a positive vehicle for all sectors of the night time economy to work together in partnership for the common good
· Improve the attractiveness and economic vitality of the awards area.
