The First Night Light Scheme in Ceredigion

Volunteers from churches in Aberystwyth, led by Rachel and Josh Maynard from St Michael's Church intend to introduce the Night Light scheme as from November 2008, the first scheme of its kind in Ceredigion.

The sole aim of Night Light is to offer assistance or support to those who may get into difficulty whilst out at night in Aberystwyth.  This is based on a national scheme which has worked well in other areas of the country and is seen to diffuse tension and contribute to a significant reduction in street problems.  Over 40 volunteers will receive training shortly and initially it is envisaged that they will have a presence of volunteers in Aberystwyth every Saturday night.    Vist Night Light's new website at www.abernightlight.co.uk to find out more.
