Special visits, talks and events

ORGANISED VISITS OUTSIDE NORMAL OPENING HOURS

Organised groups such as Merched y Wawr, WIs and Young farmer's Clubs may visit the Coliseum in the evenings by appointment. A visit of this sort normally takes about an hour.
There is a charge of £30 for this service.

LECTURES AND TALKS

Members of Ceredigion Museum staff give talks and lectures to various organisations throughout the county either at their normal meeting place or in the Coliseum.
There is normally a charge of £20 for this service.

Subjects include:

  • The work of the Museum
  • Ceredigion prehistory
  • Ceredigion early history
  • Visitors to Ceredigion during the 18th and 19th centuries
  • Welsh Costume
  • Quiz- the staff will bring a number of items that the audience is invited to try to identify.

SPECIAL EVENTS

The Coliseum was built as a theatre and the stage can be used for performances, subject to Fire and Health and Safety Regulations. Audience numbers are restricted to about 80.Contact us if you have a proposal for a live performance. We normally need to plan these at least 18 months in advance. The museum sometimes exhibits at Eisteddfodau, craft fairs, agricultural shows and other special events.
