Carers Fund

Ceredigion County Council’s Carers Unit is pleased to announce that the Ceredigion Carers Fund is open for applications.

Who can apply to the Ceredigion Carers Fund?

If you look after a family member or friend living in Ceredigion, who cannot manage on their own because they have an illness, poor health, disability, mental health issue or an addiction, you can apply for the Ceredigion Carers Fund.

The Ceredigion Carers Fund is open to Carers of all ages, including Young Carers.

How much money can I apply for?

You can apply for up to £150.

What can I spend the fund money on?

Some examples of what you could apply for are:

  • Buying things for an activity or hobby
  • Therapies/relaxation or wellbeing sessions
  • Gardening costs
  • Decorating costs
  • Tech Devices (e.g. laptop, tablet or mobile phone)
  • A holiday or weekend break
  • Day trips
  • Gym membership, exercise classes, etc.
  • Driving lessons
  • Course/training fees, books or equipment

When you apply, you will be asked to provide details of what you would like to spend the money on and how you feel you would benefit.

Please note: We are unable to pay for anything that has already been paid for.  

Can I apply for the Ceredigion Carers Fund more than once?

You can only apply once in 12 months. If you applied within the last 12 months you cannot re-apply.

How do I apply?

You will need to complete an application form. The application form and guidance notes will available here to download from 26th November 2020.

Funds are limited, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible after 26th November 2020.

What if the Ceredigion Carers Fund runs out of money?

If the Ceredigion Carers Fund runs out of money, the Ceredigion Carers Unit will contact everyone who has applied to explain. All applicants’ details will be kept on record and will be informed about the availability of further funding in the future.
