The Welsh Government have launched Grant schemes to help businesses survive the economic consequences of the national firebreak lockdown in Wales as a result of coronavirus (Covid-19).

The purpose of the grants is to support businesses with immediate cash flow support to help them survive the economic consequences of the national lockdown in Wales.

The grants detailed in this section are available for businesses in Ceredigion according to the specified eligibility criteria, and will be open to applications from 3pm on 28th October and will close at 5pm on the 20th November 2020 or when the fund is fully committed.

As of 20th November the Lockdown Discretionary Grant will remain open however, the Lockdown Non Domestic Rate Grant is now closed.

Please note: The Discretionary grant is only for Businesses that don’t have premises liable for Business Rates and that aren’t eligible for the Non Domestic Rate grant

A discretionary grant of £1,500 is available to assist businesses in Ceredigion that have:

  • Been forced to close (as defined by the regulations) as a result of the national firebreak lockdown
  • OR are able to demonstrate that the national firebreak lockdown will result in at least a 80% reduction in their turnover for that period

You are not eligible for this grant if:

  • You are eligible for, or have received, the Lockdown Non-Domestic Rate Grant from your Local Authority
  • If you have 50 or more employees
  • If the business generated less than 50% of your income, the business must be your main source of income.

Applications will be dealt with on a first come first served basis. This may lead to applications not being appraised if the fund is already fully committed.

Applicants need to be aware that there is no facility to ‘save the application form for later’ and that you should have all your information /documents ready to upload.

The Welsh Government’s ERF Phase 3 Business Development Grant will also open for applications on Wednesday 28th October.

This grant schemes offers grants of up to £10,000, £150,000 or £200,000, depending on the size of the business. Businesses can check if they’re eligible for this grant by following the link to the Eligibility checker.
