Information

Getting around can be difficult in a rural community especially if you do not have a car or are unable to drive.  Ceredigion has a variety of public transport options that can suit a range of needs.

Dyfi Valley Dial-A-Ride – 01654 700136
An accessible door to door service in and around the Dovey Valley area for people aged 60+, people with disabilities or person socially excluded by unemployment, poverty, homelessness, rurality or ill health.

Operates Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm and must be booked 24 hours in advance (longer for further journeys).

Cost: Membership is £10 per year and then local fares are £5 return.  Free for concessions.

Age Cymru Ceredigion Dial-A-Ride - 01970 615151
Available to people aged 50+ who are Age Cymru members (free to register) who cannot use public transport.

Operates Monday – Friday from 11 am – 2 pm

Area covered: Aberystwyth

St Dogmaels Market – 0845 686 0242
Available to any members of Preseli Rural Transport Association (£10 per annum, forms available from the driver) who have mobility difficulties or no other transport.

Cost: Free to concessionary bus pass holders, other fares dependent on distance travelled.
Operates on Tuesday mornings and must be booked by 12 noon the Friday before.

St. Dogmaels Dial A Ride – 0845 6860242
Eligibility: Anyone with mobility difficulties, have no transport or no access to normal public transport.  Users should register with Preseli Rural Transport Association; forms are available from the office or the driver.

Day of operation: Thursday

Cardigan Town Rider 0845 6860242
Eligibility – Anyone who cannot access normal public transport for whatever reason.  Users should register with Preseli Rural Transport Association – forms available from the office or the driver.
Areas covered:  Cardigan, Penparc, Llangoedmor, Aberporth, Parcllyn, Blaenannerch, Verwig, Llechryd, St. Dogmaels, Cilgerran, Newchapel and Abercych

Cardigan Sunday Evening Dial a Ride – Theatre Mwldan Film Club – 0845 6860242
Eligibility – Anyone who cannot access normal public transport for whatever reason.  Users should register with Preseli Rural Transport Association – forms available from the office or the driver.
Cost: Concessionary fare, £5.00 return

Days of operation: Sunday Evenings from September to April

Booked by: 12 noon the Friday before

Areas covered: Crymych Market Hall, Long Street Car Park Newport, St Dogmaels and Penparc

Ambulance Cars – 0845 8401234
Provides free non-emergency transport for patients to and from routine outpatient appointments at hospitals and clinics. Includes a range of vehicles to cater for patients needs.

Operates Monday to Friday

St Johns Patient Transport Service – 0845 644 2546
Provides a tailor-made transport service and will travel wherever the person would like to go.  They have a wide fleet of vehicles including ambulances, and wheelchair accessible cars, so are able to cater for all needs.
